On St George: The St George Hotel is the kind of place you would hang out at after a busy day of work and backbreaking activity. Although it lies on the side of a major road, Canturbury Road, you can rest assured that the horrible sounds of on coming traffic can not be heard within the safe confines of its bar. The style and decor of the pub is original, due to its focus on displaying the history of the area and of the pub. To describe it in terms that would be familiar, I would have to say that it is close to a federation style of design, while retaining all the modern needs that the beer drinking public require. The drinks are reasonably priced and all the other ways of purchasing alcohol are present. When I say this, I am refering to the presence of a drive through and a bottle shop. Furthermore many other pubs exist near by and all can be accessed by the bus routes that run through Canturbury Road and Burwood road. The St George hotel is a must for any pub crawl that would take place in the Canturbury/Bankstown area! (1/24/2005 6:50:57 AM)
