untitled review (undated review)

Its position is one of its strengths. Hidden away a small lane off Pitt Street at the back of Establishment, The Tank Stream is usually quiet enough to enjoy the surroundings and have a decent chat. Of course, like anywhere else in the city, it explodes on Friday nights, making a trip to the bar tricky. Luckily it's so minimalist that there's usually no clutter to stop circulation of people, making getting to the bar easier.

On our most recent visit, a Tuesday, the bar was home to two bar staff, another couple, and Jason and Trent from the pubguide team. We had a good log chat with the bar staff, who were not only friendly, but also eager to discuss pubs and restaurants, helping us out quite nicely.

Recommended during the week, Fridays is worth a go if you can get through the crowds. It's a little over the average price, but we don't begrudge paying when we can consider the venue worthwhile, and the Tank Stream is worthwhile indeed.

Great little venue. Don't try any match tricks though - I've bored the barmaids to death on those.
