It's small. it's standard wood and chrome. It's pretty plain, really. What is Does Have going for it is it's right on circular quay, with courtyard space outside. This, I reckon, is the main attraction of the place. Where pubs in less busy areas need to find a niche, such as in the case of off-beat music pubs or novelty crab racing and the like, the Ship can plod along gracefully with no need to do any of these things, because it's assured a stream of custom from the sorrounding office towers and the railway and ferry terminals opposite. So really, we don't have a lot to review it on. If you're there, feel free to drop in (though we think you'd be better off zipping over to the rocks). We can't find fault with it, but neither can we rave on about how great it is....

Have to agree totally with the reviewer. Sitting outside was predominately tourists enjoying a few ales, inside was the same mix. Due to its location and late opening hours it is also a haunt for a lot of people in the hospitality industry after a shift in one of the hotels/pubs in and around the area. A neutral feel for the passing parade.

This is one bar that relied on one barmen to hold it together, anyone who is a long time ship patron would remember Neil, the cocktail pouring genius who buggered off to england!!!! since his departure this bar has crashed and burned. And a note to the new management, just because u provide the staff with uniforms now, doesnt mean u can jack up the prices!!!!!!
