The Darlo bar's long narrow bar is familar to many, this pub being heavily frequented, the Century Tavern of the area, if you like, where everyone ends up sooner or later. Pokies at the Narrows end, bar at the wide end, with lots of seating in-between, it's a comfortable bar for sure. The ideal spot is on the low sofas behind their protective battlement of tables - struggling through is worthwhile, but try and nominate someone to get the rounds in - it's just too much hassle to get up once you're there.
This place and the Green Park are the two main haunts in this part of town, that is until you wander on down and hit The Cross - and I think they're pretty evenly matched, though for comfort, give me the Darlo bar.
