Greatest pub in Sydney! After a number of bad experiences at the Madison over the road, ran into the welcoming doors of the Exy and got a huge smile from the bar staff who chatted to us for ages (as we were new faces there). Beer is really cold (and cheap), cider available on tap (and cheap) and available in jugs (really cheap) -great outside area and beer garden.

 

The best thing about it is the separation of the pokies from the bar, TAB availability, large rear projection screen, plasma screens, air conditioning and GREAT STAFF! I can't recommend this pub enough. We've only lived here seven months and become dedicated locals - know all the staff on a first name basis for a while now and is the only place I'd call home. They always have a chat whenever you walk in.

 

Goes off on Saturday nights and Friday nights, but is still quiet enough for a few drinks at lunchtime and evenings. Open until 4am most weekends which is awesome. Only thing I'd complain about is the bistro - only open sporadically with overpriced and underaverage food. Other than that, a filth place to hang out and relax - 5 huge stars (all due to the fantastic staff!), Without them - well, it'd be the Madison wouldn't it?

These days it looks rather overpopulated with pokies, though the RE used to be on our visit list, once. I've had a couple of good evenings here, but despite the great outdoor area it appears to have been beaten into submission by the Madison. which we think is a shame, since the Madison's staff aren't up to much.
