PubGoer from Balmain Had another visit to this place. It was a Saturday night at 9.30pm when I arrived, for a friends farewell in one of the backrooms. The place was absolutely packed to the rafters. the public bar at the front is the only place you can smoke now - and it was fairly hard to muscle through the crowd. This then led to a long non-smoking bar (probably 3 times the size of the public bar) which had a bistro at the back, a fine dining restaurant to the back left, and two small function rooms to the back right. The gaming room was beside the public bar, but unobtrusive, hardly noticed except if you were looking for it. Both private function rooms were used (and I knew both parties using them surprisingly, so i ended up in two parties) - the non smoking bar was full of presentable, no hassle type people, the bistro seating was full. So there was a good vibe, and they have to be doing something right to get the place so full. 1 Mar 2005 Cliffy from Balmain I used to live around the corner from this place a couple of years ago. It was horrible. The last time I went there was a group of school kids in there drinking and screaming and upsetting everyone - they couldn't have been any older than 15 and the bar staff were happily serving them. Disgusting. In fairness though, I drove past it the other day and it looks like it's had a bit of a refurb so it might now be worth a go. 10 Jan 2005 PubGoer from Balmain I was pleasantly surprised with this pub when I dropped in. I was expecting much but thought the place was good. Much better than the next pub, the Tatts. I am roddy, I know 11 May 2004 Cate O'Reilly from Rozelle Me and my friends go here all the time, its never to loud so you can have a chat without shouting, the chairs are really comfy, large TV screens for sports and the pokies are well away from the main bar. Unfortunaley no food as yet but there working on it. 22 Oct 2003
