We've been getting quite into Pier 26 lately, one of the reasons for which is it's just off our regular route across Pyrmont Bridge, but that's not the sole reason by any means. For one thing, it's tucked away in an area which is slightly off the beaten track, and the situation us up above the madding crowd. Another thing is the fact that it serves Redback, among others, on tap. Yet another is that the food is truly great - the tapas menu is varied, tasty and stylishly presented, for sure.
Pier 26 is a great spot on a weekend afternoon, especially if it's bright and sunny. The major part of the bar is open to the elements, so best enjoyed on warm, calm days. It can get a bit loud on friday evening, and like all stylish bars around here it generally fills with suits pretty rapidly after work, but early in the week it's quite bearable.
