The Paragon is situated in a pretty good spot. Right on circular quay, handy for buses, trains, ferries and taxis, it's no surprise it's a fairly busy spot. Through the day folks drift in for lunch from the surrounding office blocks, then immediately after work it's more of the same. Later in the evening when the suits have moved on the place gets taken over by the under-25s, especialy upstairs, meaning it can be noisy, jostly and often surly. Security is generally pretty tight at these times.
I have to admit, there are better places within walking distance. This isn't to say that the Paragon is necessarily bad, but you're within spitting distance of
The Rocks - which is possibly the best pub area in Sydney and how do you measure up?
If you're passing at lunch, go for it. If you're making a night of it and you're over 20, consider the short walk towards the bridge
