The Fitzroy is a small, dark pub nestled in the backstreets behind Wooloomooloo which is proving pretty popular indeed. It's one of a few Sydney pubs with a theatre attached, with regular performances in different styles. Upstairs is the pool room, but on this visit we've decided to acquire a streetside table and enjoy the warm breeze.
It's busy on this particular friday, with plenty of people in enjoying the atmosphere. Downstairs the pub has a fairly british feel, but it's quite dark so don't expect to be able to read a book without straining your eyes! In the corner is a battered little dartboard, but it's not the most popular attraction here. Beers on tap include Coopers, Guiness, A couple of varieties of James Squire and several others, so there's plenty of choice. Yup, we quite like it.
