Firstly, let me just say the O Bar is great and a favourite. Located about half way up Devonshire Street, it is one of those wonderful finds - not the typical pub or the badly themed pub…. just a great pub.
The front section is where the bar is located. Service is pretty fast and friendly which always gets big points with me. They have a wide range of bottle beers, wines and cocktails so whatever your poison is, they will be able to sort you out.
Past the bar there is more table seating, perfect if you decide to indulge in the yummy menu that thankfully extends past wedges. Continue on and you find the courtyard. A lovely place to pull up a pew late in the afternoon and watch the day slip into night. I must say I have done this on a number of occasions and here’s a tip – make sure you have very little to do the next day as it may prove a bit difficult.
Friday and Saturday nights see some very cool DJ’s take to the decks. They crank up the tunes and bar is packed and rockin’! The atmosphere is relaxed and virtually completely free of posers – another plus!
It is an excellent spot for a play, a chat, a boogy, an afternoon session – whatever the occasion, O Bar is highly recommended!
