Away from the madding crowds, tucked away on Sussex Street, Moretons is a spacious, handsome sandstone pub with friendly staff and one of the better beer gardens in this part of town.
Clientele are made to feel welcome in the spacious downstairs bar, while upstairs are function rooms and to the side, the jewel - the beer garden, shaded from the sun by a large Moreton Bay fig (I'm told, anyway, trees aren't my strong point!).
In a quiet part of town it attracts a surprising number of people. as we sit down to our beer we're joined by groups of suits, the occassional tourist, some chilled out weekenders and a happy couple having their pre-wedding photographs taken. It's obviously a well-loved spot
