Maroubra Junction Hotel on Maroubra Rd... not a bad place. It's not bad on a Sunday afternoon with a large open area and a pretty cool courtyard where they also serve food from the No Names restuarant (Big, tasty and cheap meals). It's certainly not a place to go for a big night out, and the locals tend to be your average, slightly older, joe blow, typical surburban crowd. I went with my female friend on a couple of occasions... only female in there. Watch out for Kenny's Karaoke... At least when I was there, she was hot and the punters hilarious!
