PubGoer from Balmain The place must have changed a bit since the last people commented, or maybe I have caught it at different times to them. Used to be an old haunt from the Uni days, even met my wife there back in the day (early 90's). Lately I have popped in a few times for a meal and a catch up with some friends - and found the place to be quite acceptable. it is easy to kick back on the lounges near the dining area, have a few quite ales, then go in for a meal. Service is sometimes ordinary, one time with a group of about 12 the meals were all over the place, and out of time - but as i am fairly relaxed about that sort of thing, it was OK by me. Still have to make a friday night visit and see if the pub bands still play, and the beer and drunkeness flows, but i will sav that for another time. 1 Mar 2005 Nes from Clovelly always has a band playing late in the evening. good for a boogie, but dodgy otherwise. 2 Jun 2004 bibs from Marrickville Ugly, ugly, ugly. Both the Pub, the bouncers, The meatheads that go there 18 Mar 2004 Mesonal from Newtown Not the most entertaining. Young crowed, drifters. Meeting place for locals, the best part of the Marls is the MegaBucks Gaming Room, which regulary has lounges and funk music playing.
