Often packed with the younger suit 'n' socialite set, Longrain is really a stylish restaurant with a bar attached. Dress smart and be prepared to be jostled in the drinks queue, as the small bar overflows with smartly dressed 20-something swains vying to get their (prospective) young ladies a cocktail.
The food is reputedly good, but on our visit we weren't there to eat. There's a good selection of bottled beers, and the conversation level is usually escalated with shop talk generated by advertising and new media types.
A good spot to take someone on an early date, we think, since the general buzz and upmarket clientele would create a pretty good impression, but being more 'traditional' pub types we soon retired to the Hollywood, where the conversation was just as deafening, but at least you're not scowled at if you spill your beer a little. review by: Jason
