Catering to a diverse and demanding range of punters, from pommy backpackers to cross blow-ins and other odds and ends, the Kings X seems to do a decent trade most nights of the week. Not mentioning the fact that it commands a great spot at the top of "the strip" Cruising in for a quiet one one during the day is usually fine - nice laidback atmosphere, however, nights there are pretty robust - lots of shrill backpackers getting their drink on - possibly to drown out the latest developments in their fave soap opera (on the big screen)? All in all a pretty decent spot at the top of the Cross for a drink and to test the social barometer - if it sucks you'll go somewhere else, if it's a good night, you're in for a treat...Either way, in the Cross, you'll probably have a late one....
