It's narrow, it's wooden, and it's Irish. Kelly's looks tiny from outside, but extends a fair distance back from King Street and wastes little space. Following the Irish pub stereotype of 'wooden bar, fill with knick-knacks' it's not exactly breaking the mould, but it's a nice enough little spot to down a couple of Guinnesses.
There's pool, food, jukebox and all the standard accoutrements you expect of a pub, and it's right in the middle of Newtown's busiest street. Worth a go if you're passing, but not the best spot the area has to offer.
