untitled review (undated review)

I'm sitting in the Tank Stream Bar - it's very british in it's feel, and while no-one is really that sure where the tank stream goes these days, it's a fair bet that it runs, if not under, then at least very close to this building, situated as it is at the bottom of the shallow valley traverses by Hunter Street.

Yes, the Grand is a very central spot, and although tonight it's not particularly busy, I have seen it packed out with people. It seems a bit too British for this part of town, dominated as the CBD is by swish chrome-and-wood bars, but it seems to be doing fine. The bistro menu looks good and reasonably priced. The only thing I could complain about was the music - crappy R&B. Sometimes it seems like this music is following me around.

Toohey's New is being pushed quite heavily - posters and table cards extol the virtues of the brew. The pokies are well separated, and all in all I recommend it if you're in the area.

I come to this pub often after work for a few bevvy's. Lovely barkeeps and pretty good beers. Wish Emily would come back. She was a sweetheart.

Can you afford to come out, Hugh, after the block of ice you bought the missus for her ring finger a few days ago?

There are pokies there - and Chumbawamba's second single (the name of which escapes me at the moment) on the juke box…
