Impressions : downstairs is dark, a touch shabby, but busy nonetheless. Being surrounded by offices does this place no harm at all on weekday evenings. Upstars in the bistro bar, though, it’s a more stylish affair. Like most ‘bars’ in the city, it’s chrome and wood, though luckily the look is not overbearing. It’s lit through stained glass and stylish little mood lights of the kind I’d love in my loungeroom.
Downstairs is loud, with people having to shout over their neighbours to be heard. No seats at the long bar and you get the impression that this place has been going well for years now and it’s not going to be overhauled thank you very much, but again, upstairs is the winner with the level of conversation far from overbearing.
Cocktails are $8.50, crown is $4.50
