Naomi from Greenwich I have visted the covent many times after work and after sport. I go for the karoke on thursday and friday nights. I especially enjoy the people who run the karoke mark and Jimmy. 6 Jun 2006 David from where2sing.com Karaoke runs Thursday, Fridays and Saturdays 7:30 till about Midnight, and Sundays 5:30 - 11:30ish. The surly guy in the bar manager, efficient, but hardly ever a word - probably an acquired taste! Watch your drink - the 'glassies' are efficient to a fault, and all glasses under half-full are fair game - easy to lose your drink while you're up for a song, but the bar staff will usually cheerfully replace it. Quando is the song done by Uncle Laurie the Covent's singing Scotsman. Another regular is Baritone Burt who looks late 60s but is going to celebrate his 80th at the Covent in a few months. Jimmy the host and Mark the sound guy are worth a mention - Jimmy is just sheer joy to watch for his facial expressions (and always immaculately dressed). There's also a sometimes singer called Mad Dave who looks like an axe-murdered off a Hollywood set, complete with strange baggy shorts and wierd hand and facial movements... 24 Mar 2004 Dr. Lector from Sydney CBD 'Tell me quando, quando, quando". You know you're at the Covent Garden on Karaoke nights. Same singers.......same songs. Some real talent here! Cabaret as well, one regular punter dances around the bar with a full schooner glass on his head! Sometimes even Chuck Norris makes an appearance when he's in town! Top bar staff; nice girls too ..... except for one guy who is very surly and refers to some of the regulars as 'drunks'. The real star of the covent is 'Johnny' the security guard, always has a smile and a laugh! Bottom line; you always have a top night at the 'Covent'. 17 Feb 2004 Matthew Hilton from Woy Woy Have visited the Covent many times after work and beyond. Thursday and Friday nights have a great Karaoke evening that needs more girls to attend. The Security is very observant so no need to worry about trouble.The beer is always really cold and served with a smile. I give this pub 10 out of 10. You meet people from all over the world at this venue and mostly come away with a giggle and a half. A lot of people that work at Large Public Function Centres nearby drink here ( I am one of them) Plese stop and say Hi we don't bite...
