This place is a dive and it makes no appologies for it. During the day it is a great place to stop for a quick and fairly cheap beer (3.70 as of june 2006) but after 11 prices sky rocket. I was there early morning mid week the price of the beer jumped from $4.70 to $5 (Im guessing this is to plunder the mass of irish and british backpackers that descend on the place to consume copious amounts of overpriced crap vodka ($6,90, Karloff brand). The bouncers are rough and heavy handed and the management and most of the staff have a bug up their arse. And, forget about RSA and smoking laws. This place seems to operate above the law or atleast with no respect for it. Keep an eye on your drink while their aswell. Many a time I have turned my back for a second only to find on turning back around that my full drink has been collected. On complaint I was told to keep a better eye on my drink, when I asked for a replacement I was told only if I pay for it. On further complaint I was told if I dont like it I can f**k off. This has happened on more than one occassion with different staff. Definately a last choice.

I have been to the Judgement bar many a night. I can't remember what it's like though... I have hazy recollections of conversations with strangers and bodies melting into seats and a jukebox. Thats all I can remember.

Thirsty from a pub thats shut.
When I leave this place I'm wearing sunglasses. It's the last port of call for an all night bender. The crowd is impossible to define, any alcoholic could be drinking here!

I went on Saturday night for the first time and I have to admit i had the best night I've had in a very long time. Loved the juke box, loved the crowd, loved everything about it. Extremely friendly atmosphere and very easy to meet new people. Will defintely be going back.

Great pub to meet at on the way to somewhere else or for one last drink on the way home whatever the time. Very transient crowd. If you don't like who's there wait 20 minutes

IT's always happening late on Friday and Saturday nights. Good crowd, great atmosphere and lots of personality. Awesome after 2pm.

I'm a girl and I work here, and its not as daunting as they make out. You have your local heroes, your sleazy seamongers, and your typical derros. But 5am till 9am on a saturday morning, it all happens, and it is one of the best atmospheres I have ever felt. I actually enjoy going to work here, so come one and come all...(I suppose everyone does, as there is no where else to go...hahaha)

Yeah, occassionally there's a bit of a "dispute" but you can't find a better staff- as a gay couple, most people would probably expect us to prefer something like the Oxford, Gilligan's, the Shift, ARQ, etc. But we consider the Courthouse our "local" when we're in Sydney-

Trust its a full on dive! But when you wanna chill at the end of the night wivout payin stupid overpriced cover charges like they do in most of the pubs down oxford street, you will find you may end up chillin in here after a heavy one, like i did on quite a few occasions! The sittuation is pretty good though.
