Soup Plus is most definitely open. It is the same as always, live Jazz six nights a week, George is in the kitchen, and the soup is still on the boil.
Monday night is big band night, with montly residencies for Sydneys great big bands, including Don Barnetts Big Band and Brad Childs Big Band.
For the rest of the week there is a great selection of Sydneys hotest talent, including the back bone of the Sydney scene, and the new up and coming musicians.

review by: JasonThe Soup technically only just qualifies as a pub. It's actually a Live Music Venue and restaurant, but we feel it more than qualifies on the grounds that it's a bloody good night out.
The Soup has been at the heart of the Sydney jazz seen for more years than anyone can remember. My wife's parents used to go there way back when, and we go there now. Doubtless our kids will go there, if it survives the modern trend of older venues being taken over and yuppiefied.
Jazz and Swing bands play every night, there's a good honest selection of food at shovel-it-in prices, and the bar prices are just the same. Champagne (OK, sparling white) is about the lowest price we've seen, so Sophie regularly partakes of a few.
As a consequence of Sydney's restaurant regulations, you can't smoke in the main part of the restaurant, and the owner, Mt Votrubek, discourages smoking by offering a bounty to those willing to quit there and then, so it's a clean little venue whare you can breathe in just the atmosphere. Excellent
