Anywhere we can play pool for free and get a round for nothing has to be a gem - there really is no two ways about it. We arrived on Sunday (free pool day) during toss-the-boss time, and took our free round off to the pool table for a few games.
We were pleasantly surprised with this place - it's off our beaten track, we've never even passed by, but it'd be well worth a return visit, we're sure of that. They know their beer here, with a great selection on tap - James Squire Amber Ale was the beer of the week for our visit. The menu looked appetising, though not quite as good as in the beer selection. The Pool table is a little tightly squeezed in, and the TAB is right next to it, so don't expect wide open space.
Clientele is a solid cross-section from older locals to early-twenties types. Rugby seems to be something of an obsession here, along with most sports generally - a good spot to watch the game, we think.
