A local pub for local people. This Mosman cornerstone recently celebrated its 100th Birthday, and some of the characters that you see in the front bar may well have been there for its 1st.
The BV (or the Beeeeuna, as it's locally known) has two bars. The front bar, as stated above, is "full of character" - i.e. if you are over the age of 40 and are intent on swallowing as much beer in as little time as possible, this is the place for you. Wandering through to the back bar, it seems much the same at first, but the pool tables and relaxed atmpohere add to the ambience (or perhaps it was the 10 beers... no, it was the pool tables).
The restaraunt out the back is a bit exxy, but the BV serves good bar food at reasonable prices. Drinks are local pub prices, but the central bar arrangement is a hassle when the two sides have to share some taps.
The BV is worth a visit on either a relaxed Sunday with the footy on the box, or if you want to start your night at the bottom and work your way up. It's the kind of bar that everyones Dad used to go to. Even my Dad went here.
