If you've been to Bondi, you've been to the Bondi Hotel. A sprawling selction of bars in a prime location, The Bondi is never empty. It's open late, it's clean, it's airy and it's right there.
We usually frequent the Bondi on Sundays after a trip to the markets, and in the afternoon, you want comfort, so we head for the sofas (off to the right of the main bar). When we visit at night, we head the opposite way, upstairs to the pool tables (I tried counting, but, well, I was drunk...). The crowd upstairs is definitely young, lots of backpackers and locals in their early twenties with a few younger lads usually mixed in.
The bars carry a good selection of beer, though the taps upstairs have been off on recent visits. The food downstairs is excellent and cheap, but getting a table on summer weekends can be tricky. The outside terrace is particularly coveted by the Beautiful people of Bondi.
It's not the cheapest pub in Bondi, but I'd say it was about Sydney average. All in all a damn good night out.
