The Northern Beaches

Starting from Manly and heading north
 
Aside from Manly, the Northern Beaches tends to have huge, all-out pubs, often filled with tourists and 'locals' alike, despite fact that the pubs are fairly widely spaced that the 'locals' could be from several miles away.

It's a different pubbing experience than the intimate surrounds of the inner-city but it has its merits, including one of the area's best beer gardens at the Newport Arms

Not far from Warringah Mall, this is a big, open northern beaches classic

Extensive harbourside bar with an upmarket angle, phenomenally busy towards the weekend
Mona Vale Hotel
A fully featured beaches pub
